Line work Project for Art 102. Sharpie on Illustration Board. Overall, I cannot say I enjoyed this project. Mostly do to the patterns I selected taking a toll on my eyes. It got difficult to stare at after a while! I liked the challenge though; not being able to erase lines was interesting and took me to a new step I hadn't been on before. Overall, I am very happy with what I did with this project.
Shape Morphing Project for Art 102. Sharpie. I really had a hard time figuring out what to do for this project. I procrastinated a bit and ended up having to complete it the night before it was due. But it somehow turned out better than I thought it would and ironically, the first square looks similar to a spider web - which is awesome since spider's are a sort of "spirit animal" for me! I am happy with the results for this and believe I accomplished what was necessary for the assignment as well as my own idea in my head.
This particular project proved to be very interesting. Though I had difficulties with the project itself, I enjoyed seeing the various ways that simple rules can be manipulated or interpreted. The assignment proved how different everyone in the class thinks and it revealed how simple decisions can reflect as something much larger as a whole than when originally created. One point I want to make, is that not a single person understood my view for the individuality square. Which bothered me a little considering I had to explain my concept and that truly was the one square I thought the hardest about while creating the project. This simply backs up my point on how different people think and how there are various ways to read into a piece of art.

This Project involved Shapes and nature; the objective was to use items found in nature to inspire two abstracts in which one was taken into pieces to create another version of the abstraction.
I personally did not like this project; I do not define myself as an abstract artist and t truly challenged my creative abilities and a lot of my frustration ended up being channeled through the pieces as this project progressed. I do believe I accomplished the goals of each piece and even when with a different approach for the final abstraction in a successful manner. Instead of cutting the abstraction up, I decided to tear the piece up. I felt wrong to cut it up and tearing the piece up, though still destroying it, felt as though it honored the nature inspiration of the piece a lot more. It also was one of the ways I decided to channel my emotions into the piece. This goes along with the concept of "destroying to create", which I use frequently in my work. The objective of this piece involved overlapping patterns efficiently with white colored pencil.
Overall I believe I accomplished this. The piece possesses balance and unity within the patterns and the piece as a whole. I properly displayed different values with various patterns and used variations in size and space to complete this piece. I enjoyed the freedom allowed for this project; it provided me to really express myself and pick patterns I could appreciate. |

Along the right side of the screen are a selection of thumbnails created o help create an idea for a final draft personal logo.
To the left, the column contains items I branded with my logo created in class. I created branded packaging and stationary for the use of sending prints to the lovely supporters from my Etsy, GreyEngelArtwork. The lighter is more of just a simple item used by many on a daily basis to provide a practical way for others to come across my logo. |
Personal Logo
This small gallery consists of color variations for my final logo project. To create these, I used Corel DRAW X7 and Photoshop. I personally prefer the transparent background for this personal logo, For a second choice I would select the draw red background since I am satisfied with how the webbing looking against this colored background. |
Color Project: Purple
Here is a snap of my color research poster; assigned the color purple I discovered the large amount of spiritual influence the color possesses, as well as symbolizing wealth, Euphoria, and mystery. I deeply enjoyed researching this color - it is one of my favorites to use.

Art 102 Final :Rebrand Cube
This final proved to challenge me; it forced me to use Photoshop, but a new version I am not familiar with. I had difficulties with capturing quality photos of my product, the Jaegermeister bottle, but all together I feel I created a cheerful holiday version of the beverage's packaging. I am no digital artist, but I did the best I could and feel I accomplished the task as well as improved my personal skills with Photoshop by being introduced to this new version. |
